The NCC Benchmark of IT Spending 2005 provides an appraisal of IT spending levels and spending ratios, enabling organisations to benchmark their IT spending in support of their IT decision making.The analysis, by industry sector, size of IT department and number of end-users looks at:

• IT spending ratios
• Breakdown of IT spending
• IT spending growth
• IT staffing
• Systems strategies (including the desktop, portables, PDAs, central systems and servers)

Based on responses from 217 organisations who between them have an annual turnover of over £38 billion, employ over 440,000 end-users, and their total IT spending in 2004/5 was £700 million.
