The survey looks at the coordination of IT strategy and business strategy - in particular it examines the position of IT management within the corporate management structure and the consequent impact on IT and business strategy. It will include an investigation into the implementation and development of strategy and the perception of IT strategy in action.

One of the objectives of this survey is to see how the position of IT in the organisation has evolved over the last five years. (A similar project carried out by NCC in 2000, identified a strong correlation between the position of senior IT managers in the corporate management structure and the pace and effectiveness of IT development within the organisation.)
