Like so many other IT concepts, few people are clear about what unified messaging is. The bare minimum definition suggests that unified messaging is an approach to corporate communications in which messaging services are provided seamlessly to the user regardless of the medium. To misquote the great philosopher of communications, Marshall McLuhan, the message is the medium.
