IT Procurement
Guidelines 272NCC Members have free access to this Guideline on the Principia website.
The effective procurement of IT can be a major factor in ensuring success in the corporate development process. IT procurement impacts the whole business; this is more than simply the procurement of the IT system itself. The process also needs to consider: installation, commissioning, testing and integration issues, as well as ancillary support activities such as system management, user training, maintenance, support, and systems development.
Typically, any IT system comprises:
- Databases
- Transactional processing systems
- Data processing and office administration systems
- Communications and networking capabilities
- Product design and product data systems
- Data classification and storage systems
- Software
- Hardware
- Support Services
