Installing Linux
Technical Guidelines 1Issue 1 of these Technical Guidelines present a review of the practical installation of the Linux operating system for use on end-user desktop and laptops. They are of interest to anyone considering Linux as a desktop operating system or selecting a Linux distribution for personal or corporate use.
They are based on a study initiated by the Society of IT Managers (SOCITM). The testing process was carried out by the National Computing Centre (NCC) staff within the Open Source Academy (OSA) project.
